Early childhood materials typically range from the awkward to the horrifying. Often the *better* ones I've run into are from the 40s, 50s and 60s and encode some really.... uh.... "Conservative" values. Or are unbelievably irrational
Questions like "why do monkeys bang on drums and like shiny rings" (is this a racist callout???) and "why do dr. seuss's characters violate each others boundaries constantly" are often in my head...
